Passing the Torch!
ESPN Sportscenter Feb 2 2011
Hannah Storm: …..okay now for our viewers at home, we will turn away for a moment from our Superbowl coverage as I have been informed that there is a press conference taking place in Cleveland ,Ohio.
Hannah Storm: Erin Andrews is in Cleveland and she will fill us in on this breaking news.
Erin Andrews: Thanks Hannah! We are here at what used to be the home of the once great wrestling fed known as United Championship Wrestling. One of the best known wrestlers from that fed is officially announcing his retirement. KOP (The King of Pain).
Hannah Storm: Wow that is news, but rumors were surfacing for quite sometime that he was indeed retiring. So now your saying he is about to make it official?
Erin Andrews: That’s right Hannah, we were sort of tipped off when he was inducted to several different Hall of Fames. Most experts speculated that the events in the past year, losing a baby in a car wreck and at times KOP has been controversial in the public eye, most figure he would settle down.
Hannah Storm: Well he certainly has been one of sports more colorful characters to say the least. He has a rather large fan base considering how many times he insulted the fans on numerous occasions.
Erin Andrews: Well Hannah in wrestling now matter how a guy like KOP treated the fans, he always put on a good show for them and left his heart in the ring, so fans appreciate that.
The talk between reporters continues meanwhile in the back, Ray Andrews (KOP), Duane Drew (Mr. Ultimate), Nalia (KOP’s Wife). They all have been on a great ride together throughout KOP’s career and now it ends with them. There is also a young man in the room with them but he says nothing out of respect for what is taking place and for what is about to take place. They head out to the stage in the old UCW arena. The Cameras are flashing and the press is standing by.
Erin Andrews: and that’s….wait Hannah he is coming out, lets go to the podium.
Ray Andrews is standing at the podium, Duane Drew is on his left patting him on his back and Nalia is on his right holding to his arm.
Nalia: (whispers) are you ready Ray? Ray Andrews: Yeah I think so babe.
Duane Drew: (whispers) Your on bro!
Ray Andrews looks out at all the people and thinks that it feels good to see one more event take place in the building. This was the House that KOP built along with many others, both friend and foe.
Ray Andrews: I like to thank everyone for coming here today. I began my career years ago with the man to the left of me the legendary Mr. Ultimate Duane Drew. During our journey we have traveled to many places, sold them and tore the house down. Along that journey I met a beautiful woman named Nalia Simmons and I was crazy about her. I still am crazy about and that is why her name is Nalia Andres and she is standing next to me at my right hand side.
Ray Andrews: These two have been the rocks in my life and as I leaned on them for strength in my career, I am leaning on them for strength to make this announcement to you all. I am officially retiring from pro wrestling. I have accomplished all I can and I owe it to my wife to spend more time with her.
Ray Andrews: People may be saying that I am still in the prime of my career, but its better this way. I am still committed to a few guest matches and I intend to honor those commitments. I thought it was appropriate that I end things here in this building. I had success elsewhere, but his is where my career took off and this is where I really made a name for myself.
Ray Andrews: I of course would like to thank my wife for her sacrifice and undying commitment and support. I also want to thank Duane Drew my brother from another mother. It was he who started UCW and called me into the big leagues of wrestling. Without these two the is no KOP.
Ray Andrews: I want to thank Solid, we had some great times Bro! I would also like to thank P.T. Merciless who later owned UCW and brought me back home and Ace Styles , Ace we feuded but we made each other better. To all my old stable mates The Horsemen versions 1 and 2, Deathstroke, even Royal Powerhouse (the crowd laugh a little),The Ultimate SINsations Molly, Iceman., too Special thanks to Hardcore Harrel and Insane Promotions, Redrum, The Diamond Exchange, and Pretty Boy Entertainment, you were all enemies but we couldn’t do what we did here without each other.
Ray Andrews: Last but not least thanks to John at Johns bar and grill. Stop in now and get the KOP special By one half pound cheeseburger and fries and get a Guinness at half price in a free Horseman collector series mug. Thank you John for allowing me to plug your bar from time to time in my career.
Ray Andrews: I will now open the floor to questions before I unleash a special surprise! Bill Meeks of the Plain Dealer go ahead Bill!
Bill Meeks: (smiles) Thanks Ray! It has been my pleasure to cover you here in Cleveland and well I’m sure everyone knows you want to spend time with your beautiful World famous supermodel wife, but what are your plans for the near future?
Ray Andrews: Funny you ask that Bill. That is a perfect segue way to my next HUGE BLOCKBUSTER announcement.
KOP gets ready to unleash a major surprise on everyone:
Ray Andrews: Recently I was called to check out a very talented and up and coming wrestler. They said he was a lot like me and so I went at the request of Duane Drew and GWA. I liked what I saw. This young man was very impressive and he may be better than I was at his age.
Ray Andrews: Many of you know, my wife finds young talented woman and recruits them and trains them for a modeling career and she is very successful. So with that being said, this particular young man asked me to train and manage his career. This gets better! Nalia’s Public relations people have an interest in marketing this young man and helping develop his superstar persona!
Ray Andrews: So ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you the first member of the KOP Wrestling Foundation: THOMAS KEITH ORENTHAL who will be better known to you all as TKO!
Nas - Hero featuring Keri Hilson plays and out comes a young man in a Black Armani that almost matches KOP’s and he has light tinted black shades on and walks up to shake hands with Ray Andrews.
Ray Andrews: This young man already has a match against another wrestling legend in GWA, the legendary Trip Master. It was only appropriate that in this building I am passing the torch to the future! The microphone is all yours TKO!
TKO: I very thankful to Mr. Andrews for allowing me to share the spotlight on his special day. The truth is now the spotlight has passed from the great King of Pain, to me! My time in the spotlight is right now this weekend in GWA, when I retire the Trip Master!
TKO: Trip Master, the King of Pain has told me all about you. I watched the footage of your matches against each other in DWF and I watch other footage of you elsewhere. You could say I have the advantage. I know you but you don’t know me! After this week at Wrestle Cade, you will know me and you will never forget me!
TKO: I will begin my career with a bang! I can hear it now 1.…2.….3.…and the winner of this match T……..K……..OOOOOOOOOOOOO!
KOP claps his hands and the entourage walks off of the stage and to the back. Walt is waiting in the limo for everyone as they will head to Johns bar and KOP continues to teach TKO about continuing a legacy and carrying the torch!

Trip Master - Biography
Trip Master was born Franklin Alexander Redgrave in May of 1983 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The only child of an alcoholic, promiscuous mother and an almost chronically underemployed father, Redgrave's childhood was certainly no happy one. The family moved a lot, and "home" was an undefinable concept. Franklin spent many a night having to listen to his parents fighting and things being smashed in the kitchen. On top of that, New Mexico was an oppressive place, and young Franklin had few relatives and fewer friends.
In 1994, Franklin Redgrave, Sr. lost his job as an auto parts clerk and the family was forced to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio, where Charla Redgrave's sister and her family lived. The Medlands took the Redgraves in, and there they stayed for many months. Franklin got along well with his aunt and uncle, particularly since their presence made it nearly impossible for his parents to engage in the screaming matches he'd had to endure listening to for so many years of his young life. Adding to young Franklin's newfound contentment was having another child to interact with for the first time, his cousin Peter, who would of course would grow up to be a professional wrestler, himself. The two boys got along well, although they did have their fights, like any kids.
After some months of pavement-pounding, Franklin Sr. finally landed himself a job as a truck driver, and the Redgraves were finally able to move into a nice apartment in suburban Cleveland. Everything rolled along nicely, and even the figts between his parents simmered considerably, mainly due to the good income Frank Sr. now brought home. One night, however, in October of 1997, everything stopped. At once.
***Franklin had been a normal jabber-mouthed kid up until his fourteenth year. At that time, his father was away often and for up to a week driving a truck for Midwestern Freightlines, and his mother, Charla, would bring men home from the bars increasingly often. Young Franklin would watch as a series of these "uncles" would pass in and out of his mother's bed. He'd begun fighting a lot with her about it. Then, on October 9th, 1997, something would happen that would take Franklin's voice away...
His mother had one of her lovers in the bedroom, and the sounds of lovemaking emanated from within.
He heard his father enter the apartment, and he rushed from his bedroom to greet the man. When he came out, he saw his parents' bedroom door open a crack and the front door of the apartment wide open. His father's workboots could be heard slamming their way down the outside steps. Franklin looked back and forth between the doors and quickly surmised that his father must have come home, heard the sex that was happening in the bedroom, peeked in, then ran out. Just as he was about to follow his father, the man came barging back into the apartment.
Frank Sr. carried the single-barrel shotgun he'd always kept on the gun rack in his truck. Young Franklin knew the weapon well enough. His father and his uncle would often take Peter and himself hunting in the wilderness of rural Ohio. He'd even fired the thing once or twice on these trips. Now, it seemed his father had an entirely different target than deer. Franklin screamed at his father, "DAD! NO!" But the man seemed not to even hear him. He entered the bedroom...
Young Franklin froze in place as he listened to a short scream from his mother. Then the first blast.
BLAM!!
A second later, a second blast. As Franklin stood there, terrified and unable to move, he heard a final barking of the weapon. A moment later, he watched as a headless thing that had been his father stagger out of the bedroom, sway uncertainly, then collapse on the floor between the bedroom and living room. Franklin tried to scream, but...Nothing. It was as if his throat was clogged with clay.
It would be two years of endless counselling and speech therapy before Franklin would be able to utter a single word.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trip Master would spend most of his early adult life floating from place to place, and dealing drugs, fucking whores, and bouncing in and out of independent feds. Now, he's part of the largest wrestling company in the world. And yet, he's still tying up loose ends and starting new "underground" ventures.
In more recent times, prior to joining the Global Wrestling Alliance, Trip Master has impregnated a wrestling groupie named Rachael Hudson and has since married her, along with another woman, Stacey Keaton. As it turned out, Rachael was the daughter of a polygamist Mormon named Thomas Hudson, a man who controls a fairly wealthy Momon fundamentalist sect in Utah. A secretive lot, these people are shielded, for the most part, from society. Trip Master is anything but religious, but the multiple wives, the tax breaks, and the pressure from Rachael's family to join the church and marry her won him over. Now, he regularly sins behnd the church's back, but loves the perks.

Back with an Attack (in Cleveland)
Trip Master cruises through the streets of Cleveland, past so many boarded up buildings and other depressing sights. His wife Rachael, and his second wife, Stacey, have come along for this ride. Being stuck most of the time in their home state of Utah, shut off from the world as they are, the girls do like to get out from time to time, as much as Trip would rather have peace and quiet.
"So this is where you grew up?" Rachael asks, looking at the passing graffiti-covered buildings in between studying her nails. "What a dump."
Trip glances over her way. "I only grew up here a few years, when I lived with Peter," he explains. "Mainly, I grew up in Albuquerque." He drives a few more minutes. "Then of course, there was Boston...and New Hampshire..."
"You moved constantly, didn't you, baby?" Stacey chimes in from the back seat. She's a much sweeter gal than Rachael is. The victim of a severe, possibly lifelong case of amnesia after suffering a car wreck, Stacey is the loving, nurturing yin to Rachael's bitchy, demanding yang. But together, the sex is outrageous.
"Yep," Trip says, disinterestedly. His mind right now, as he makes a left, then a right, through downtown Cleveland, is on the man he'll face at the first ever WrestleCade. A man, he's been told and recently seen on the news, is a protege of none other than his cousin's longtime adversary, the King of Pain, Ray Andrews. This is why he's on his way to a taping of an ESPN Sportscenter Press Conference here in Cleveland, the city that was once a wrestling mecca. Evidently, KOP, Mr. Ultimate, and this new "TKO" character are the guests of honor.
"So this is where the Hall of Fame is?" Stacey, from the back seat.
Trip Master glances up in the rearview back at her. "Which one? Lotta different leagues, honey. The UCW one is here. But that's not the one I'm being honored in."
"Which one is that?"
"UWA. So is Ray."
"Is that why we're going to this foolish press conference?" Rachael asks, finally finishing up painting her nails.
"No, we're going so I can psyche out the guy I'm facing at WrestleCade. Ray just happens to be there."
Rachael looks over at him with a dubious face. "Is it really that important?"
"Of course it is, it's the fucking wrestling business! This is what I do. And there's big money if I win at WrestleCade, so just don't question this shit, all right?"
Rachael fumes at him. "Don't you bitch at me like that! I'll---"
"Bitching?? I'm just answering a bitch!" Trip barks back at her.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Stacey cuts them both off from the back seat. "Enough, you two. All you do is fight. It's not good for the baby."
Trip Master and Rachael are silent for a while. He has to admit, he does feel a little silly fighting with a woman looking as he does right now. Trip Master's opted for a different look for the GWA, one he hopes will give him a psychological edge over his opponents. He now wears a mask of red face paint. His hair, naturally blonde, is dyed a dark brown, almost black color. He sports a goatee. His attire is usually consisting of yellow trunks and black boots. That's what he looks like today, driving through Cleveland. But it's necessary, because he's going to be on camera.
After another few turns and stoplights, the sprawling, but closed down United Championship Wrestling arena appears before them. Trip Master only visited the place a few times over the years, but this is where his cousin, PT Merciless, became a star, as well as the two men he'll be seeing shortly.
Trip pulls into the lot, and a valet offers to take the car for him.
"No, thanks, the wifey'll take it from here, Ruggles," he says to the young man, and pulls away, luckily finding the one empty spot in a sea of cars. He kills the engine and jumps out, and leans back into the car, giving Rachael a little kiss he feels she doesn't deserve. "Stay here, girls."
"Why??" Rachael asks. "We've been in this fucking car for hours!"
Trip rolls his eyes. "Here we go...Because, I may come out of there wearing handcuffs." He stands up and closes the door, cutting off the sound of her nails-on-a-chalkboard voice. He looks toward the arena and mumbles to himself, "If I'm lucky."
Entering the place, he takes about ten minutes to find the arena's center, where the big press conference is being taped. Hopefully, this TKO dude's segment hasn't come and gone yet, or this whole trip'll be a waste. And Christ, won't Rachael bitch then.
Fortunately, as that Trip Master luck would have it, he enters through the large double doors to the arena and there, with dozens of reporters present, all flashing their lightbulbs at him, stands the King of Pain, giving his retirement speech. Personally, Trip considers his retirement a blessing for himself. KOP was the one guy over in the DWF who could give him a run for his money.
Trip Master garners a few quizzical looks as he passes through the crowd and brazenly makes his way to the stage. He gets just close enough, then hangs back behind some random cluster of reporters. He waits there, with some people of course turning to look at this guy with the red Sting-like face paint, but this being a wrestling press conference, pay him little more mind than that.
Waiting there for TKO to take the podium, Trip grabs a couple ass cheeks and deftly moves into the crowd to avoid capture. Finally, after KOP rattles on long enough about his storied career, he introduces his protege to the world. TKO takes the spotlight, and Trip Master gets ready to make his move.
KOP's Point-of-View
Ray Andrews: Recently I was called to check out a very talented and up and coming wrestler. They said he was a lot like me and so I went at the request of Duane Drew and GWA. I liked what I saw. This young man was very impressive and he may be better than I was at his age.

KOP claps his hands and the entourage walks off of the stage and to the back. Walt is waiting in the limo for everyone as they will head to Johns bar and KOP continues to teach TKO about continuing a legacy and carrying the torch!
Trip Master's Point-of-View
KOP and TKO are both heading through the back halls toward an exit where a limousine waits for them. Trip Master sneakily peeks around a corner and watches them approach, then pass, then head down the hall.
"KOP...TKO...WTF?" he chuckles a little as he mutters to himself. "All right, time to go." He pops a little red packet into his mouth, and feels it dissolve.
Just before KOP, Ultimate, TKO and the women get to the limousine, with throngs more reporters awaiting to question them, Trip Master comes running out of nowhere and stands in front of the limousine. Reporters jump back crazily, and cameras start flashing with double rapidity now. KOP and Mr. Ultimate also stop suddenly, regarding this painted-faced wrestler. TKO gives him a defiant look, knowing trouble is coming, but just rookie enough not to keep his distance the way Ray and Drew do.
"Quite the celebration, folks! The kid looks strong as an ox, Ray! I hope he can bleed well!" Trip Master says in his most evil-sounding voice.
Now, KOP takes his ever-present shades off and squints to look into the face of the intruder. "Trip Master? Is that you??"
"Here's a hint!" Trip says, and blows a huge cloud of a bright red pepper-spray-like substance into the eyes and face of TKO, who still stands right in front of him. The man grabs his face and screams, blinded and in agony, and unable to breathe clearly, all in an instant.
Trip Master climbs up on the roof of the limo and stands up there as KOP and Mr. Ultimate instinctively charge him. He points down at Ray Andrews.
"Ray, my cousin has a ton of respect for you, and so do I. But this punk down here on the ground is my opponent at WrestleCade, and you know as well as me, buddy...Business is business. Have a good time at John's."
With that, Trip Master jumps down on the ground on the other side of the limo, and darts away. KOP and Ultimate start to give chase, but decide against it.
"We'll get that son of a bitch," Duane says, patting his best friend on the shoulder, "Don't worry."
Trip Master disappears into the bustling parking lot as KOP and Mr. Ultimate kneel down and tend to their young friend, covered in Red Mist, along with the snow all around him.
